Wood Worker / Fabricator
Seeking an experienced fabricator with minimum of 5 years in solid hardwood woodworking, milling, joining, planing, & sanding. Will be working independently, and on a team, fabricating live edge plank and slab table tops, solid lumber furniture, and a variety of custom solid wood pieces. Must have knowledge of lumber cuts and species. Forklift experience helpful. This position does not require finishing experience but knowledge of finishing is a plus. Lifting up to 100 lbs. is required for this position.
Our shop operates on a 4-day work week (Monday-Thursday), with overtime often available on Fridays.

Lead Sawyer Position
Wood From the Hood is growing and we are looking to add a Lead Sawyer to our team. Our Lead Sawyer position will be responsible for facilitating our day-to-day lumber production operations. Responsibilities for this role will include operating a band sawmill / Lucas Slabbing mill, directing team members, maintaining safety protocols, grading and sorting lumber, prepping logs, maintaining log inventory, tracking lumber production, loading and unloading kilns.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Must work well in a team environment
- Experience using both bandsaw and chainsaw mills.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and skid loaders
- Working knowledge of lumber species, grading, and scaling.
- Woodworking experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent problem-solving / time management skills
- Positive attitude and takes feedback well
- Desire to learn new skills
- Ability to lift 75+lbs.

Hourly pay $18 -$27 depending on experience
