Many don’t know this about Wood from the Hood, but commercial projects are one of our specialties!
We love reclaiming urban trees but commercial work is where we truly shine with our partners!
In partnership with our sister company, Siewert Cabinet and Fixture Manufacturing Inc. We can take on large complex commercial fixture, furniture & casework projects. Utilize our reclaimed urban lumber within those projects to create something that is not only beautiful, but sustainable. To bring our abilities full circle Anth’s Chop Shop (ACS) has recently moved into our facility. ACS brings amazing custom metal fabrication talent to the mix. Wood from the Hood has become a totally integrated one stop design build shop. Offering design services with the option of environmentally conscious choices in Urban Wood from the Minneapolis St. Paul area. Siewert Cabinet is a high-end shop producing the highest quality wood products. Together we can do everything from design build to installation of our finished products. Because we have all this amazing talent in one place Designers, General Contractors and Architects enjoy working with us.
An exciting project we completed recently
Showcased both Wood From the Hood and Siewert Cabinet and Fixture Manufacturing Inc. It was for a private residence in the Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis. This beautiful hotel is connected by Skyway to sporting events, businesses districts, amazing entertainment and only two blocks from the stunning Mississippi River.
The team at Siewert Cabinet had the privilege of fabricating casework, trim packages, wood & metal wall panels, and Quarts tops for the Four Seasons Hotel guest rooms and Private Residences. So, when a family in one of the residential condos needed some customized additions for this gorgeous building, we began to see the possibilities we were able to bring to them by combining the unique skill sets of all companies. Our design team worked with the client to create two custom-built-in cabinets, adding storage that the client desperately needed.
The wall cabinet allows the client to display a collection of custom-made maps chronicling the evolution of the Mississippi River over the decades. It’s especially interesting to view these maps while also looking onto the view of the actual river below. We also created a feature wall utilizing walnut and quartz to transform a flat white wall into a textural focal point in the room. We designed and fabricated a beautiful coffee table from reclaimed urban ash with a custom-made steel base, provided by Anth’s Chop Shop. It is sized perfectly for the residential space. All of which flows seamlessly with the casework already done by Siewert Cabinet.
The result is a thoughtfully designed, fully integrated space and the client could not be more pleased.
We look forward to showcasing some of our other projects soon!
